Red Roux


Red Roux is a handcrafted flour and butter/ghee or oil mix seasoned to comprise a simple soup or gravy base. We use a spice blend that is a balance between spicy, mildly hot and a fully seasoned and fragrant blend of the best herbs and spices we can find. Part of the red color of our blends of Red Roux, are the results of the seasoning blend which is put in and mixed with our flour and fat process in the making of Red Roux. The primary thickening agent for three of the French mother sauces is a roux. It is equal parts flour and fat. In traditional roux, the fat has been clarified butter/ghee. There are three types of roux; blond, light brown and dark. In Red Roux, we use a dark seasoned roux which is a blend of herbs and spices that combine to define a distinct aroma and taste to enhance soups, sauces and gravies. There are a wide variety of uses for this special product which features NO added salt or sugar and does not contain any artificial flavor or flavoring, GMO or chemical preservative, or any other artificial or synthetic ingredient.  We use only 100% All Natural non-GMO ingredients and take the time to clarify our butter/ghee to ensure our roux is rich in healthy fat-soluble vitamins such as vitamins A, D, E and K. These vitamins and antioxidants are important for fighting free radicals in promoting skin cell growth and good vision, bone and brain health and for boosting the immune system.

What is Clarified Butter/Ghee? In our opposition to processed food, we use 100% All Natural Un-Salted Clarified Butter/Ghee, which contains NO added salt or sugar, NO trans-fats and NO hydrogenated oils! Clarifying butter/ghee is the process of separating milk solids (lactose) and water from butter fat.  For that, we slowly heat our butter over a low flame, allowing the different components to separate by density. Heating evaporates water, as some solids sink to the bottom and others begin floating to the surface. We then remove the floating solids, while remaining solids at the bottom are left behind during our mixing process. Cooks and chefs often prefer to use clarified butter/ghee for healthy dishes.



Less Guilt, More Flavor! We use 100% gluten-free brown rice flour tested and proven to perform in a wide range of product applications while delivering nutritious fiber and protein. The testing of this flour conforms to requirements set by Celiac Sprue Association and is Kosher certified. We combine our gluten-free flour with non-GMO Safflower Oil as another healthy option. NO salt, NO added sugar, NO trans-fats and NO hydrogenated oils! 100% vegan!  Non-GMO Safflower oil is a better substitute for contributing to lowering cholesterol, reducing weight and enhancing health. Safflower oil is known to contain linolenic and linoleic acids (a very high content of omega-6 fatty acids, which is a beneficial type of fatty acid that our body needs) that help prevent and reduce the risk of heart disease, heart attacks and strokes, vital for cardiovascular health.  Our Gluten-Free roux provides a base for anyone to quickly plan and prepare personalized dishes to meet the specific dietary requirements they value without sacrificing flavor and satisfaction.
